Factory metal sheet roofing reaches maximum temperatures of 70\u00b0C during midday, transferring heat down to the building and creating extremely hot working conditions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Installing roof insulation reduces the temperature transferred from the roof, minimizing heat exposure for workers inside the building. Thermal conductivity indicates how well insulation can transfer heat. Higher thermal conductivity allows more heat to pass through. Therefore, high thermal conductivity means poor insulation, as we want to prevent heat transfer. Thermal conductivity values closer to 0 indicate better thermal insulation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">MicroFiber glass wool has submitted materials for thermal conductivity testing to ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) according to ASTM C518 testing standards to determine the material&#8217;s thermal conductivity value.<\/p>\n<h3>Moisture Absorption<\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Moisture absorption of roof insulation is extremely important because roofing applications may develop holes over time due to material wear or roof leaks, causing rainwater to drip onto the insulation. If the insulation absorbs water, it becomes heavier and water evaporation becomes more difficult.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">MicroFiber glass wool has been tested for moisture absorption according to ASTM C411 standard for material moisture absorption testing. Test results show moisture absorption of &lt; 1%, which is very low. If mold or damage occurs, insulation should not promote growth of mold or fungi that could affect indoor air quality. MicroFiber glass wool is a product that does not promote mold growth and is not a food source for organisms, so there are no concerns about damage from mold or fungi.
