High-Temperature Thermal Insulation
In large industrial projects that use high-temperature thermal energy, such as power plants, metal foundries, or sugar mills, these facilities calculate energy value as a cost. If some energy is lost, it increases costs, similar to an opportunity cost.
This year, we have all seen clean energy as a rapidly growing trend, including electric vehicles, wind power plants, and biomass power plants. These industries are rapidly expanding their production capacity, resulting in the construction industry growing as well.
What is high-temperature insulation?
High-temperature insulation is thermal insulation that can withstand high temperatures for extended periods while maintaining its insulating properties. We apply thermal insulation for two reasons:
- To maintain the temperature of internal materials and save energy (Energy saving)
- To protect humans from contact with heat (Personal Protection)

High-temperature thermal insulation systems for industrial plants
What temperature can each type of thermal insulation withstand?
- High-temperature glass fiber insulation can withstand up to 540°C
- ROCKWOOL stone wool insulation can withstand 350 – 850°C depending on specifications
- Calcium silicate insulation can withstand up to 650°C
- Ceramic fiber insulation can withstand up to 1,400°C
Glass fiber insulation for high-temperature applications can withstand heat up to 540°C
- SCG Pipe Cover glass fiber insulation is characterized as high-temperature glass fiber pipes
- SCG High Temperature glass fiber insulation is characterized as heat-resistant glass fiber sheets
