Aeroflex

Aeroflex rubber insulation is made from synthetic EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber), which is flexible with low thermal conductivity. It is used for insulating air conditioning pipes, chilled water pipes, or duct pipes to prevent condensation. It has the following advantages:

  • Low density of only 48 – 80 kg/m³
  • Low thermal conductivity
  • Wide temperature continuous service ranging from -57°C to 125°C
  • Low water absorption
  • Excellent ozone and weather resistance
  • No corrosion on copper pipe
  • Contains no CFCs, HFCs, HCFCs
  • Available in various sizes from 1/8″ – 8″ pipes and thicknesses from 1/8″ to 3″

Wide operating temperature range

Air conditioning pipe insulation helps maintain constant temperature inside the pipe and prevents condensation on the pipe surface. When using pipe insulation, it can operate at low temperatures down to -57ºC and prevent heat loss at high temperatures up to 125ºC

Low water absorption and high moisture penetration resistance

Closed cell structure prevents moisture penetration between insulation cells. The insulation wall acts as a vapor barrier to prevent moisture penetration

Meets fire and smoke standards

Passes fire spread standards from many international institutions including ASTM E84, UL94, JIS K 6911, EMPA, IMO A653 and other standards. Special products tested by FM Approved in the Aeroflex – EP series, which do not burn like plastic foam that produces smoke and flame dropping

Chilled water pipes and cooling systems

In chilled water pipe systems of cooling machines and air conditioning systems with low temperatures, when cold pipes come into contact with hot outside air, condensation forms on the pipe surface. Insulating with black rubber insulation helps prevent condensation on the pipe surface. Insulating cold pipes simply prevents air from directly contacting the pipe surface, thus preventing water droplets
