How to Use ASAWA Insulation Fasteners
There are various types of thermal and acoustic insulation fasteners, including pins and lock washers. In this post, we will explain how to use each type of insulation fastener.
ASAWA PIN

How to Use Nail Adhesive Insulation Pins
Pins with Nail Adhesive and Silicone Adhesive
1. Pins with nail adhesive and silicone adhesive must have holes in the base plate to allow excess adhesive to flow through.
2. Apply nail adhesive or silicone in the container (ASAWA provides an applicator stick)
3. Spread the nail adhesive evenly across the pin base plate
4. Attach the pin to the surface until excess adhesive flows through the base plate
Recommendations:
45 mm pins for 25 mm (1 inch) thick thermal insulation
65 mm pins for 50 mm (2 inch) thick thermal insulation
90 mm pins for 75 mm (3 inch) thick thermal insulation
115 mm pins for 100 mm (4 inch) thick thermal insulation
ASAWA LOCK (Tape-backed Pins)

How to Use Tape-backed Insulation Pins
Tape-backed Pins (Blue Tape)
1. Blue tape-backed pins are easier to use than adhesive pins – just peel and stick
2. Use another pin to help remove the blue tape backing
3. Remove the blue tape
4. Attach to the wall or desired surface
.
ASAWA tape-backed pins are IEC certified, provide strong adhesion on all surfaces, are suitable for outdoor use, and can withstand temperatures up to 85°C
Recommendations:
45 mm pins for 25 mm (1 inch) thick thermal insulation
65 mm pins for 50 mm (2 inch) thick thermal insulation
90 mm pins for 75 mm (3 inch) thick thermal insulation
115 mm pins for 100 mm (4 inch) thick thermal insulation
ASAWA Washer

How to Use Lock Washers for Insulation Pins
Lock Washer
1. Used in conjunction with pins to secure thermal insulation (included in pin box)
2. Insert the insulation onto the pin
3. Place the lock washer flush against the insulation
4. Bend the pin tip upward to prevent the lock washer from slipping off
ASAWA Plastic Dome Washer

How to Use Plastic Caps with Insulation Pins
Plastic and Metal Dome Caps
